Johor Biodiversity and Biotechnology Organization was establish on 27 April 2006 under the Johor Committee of Biotechnology and Biodiversity that ensconce by Y.A.B Johor Minister, Dato’ Haji Abd. Ghani B. Othman .
J-Biotech vision is to coordinate the activities in the development of biotechnology and biodiversity sector in Johor region. That vision brought to the existance of mission that becoming a basic principle that also known as “ SOUTH GATEWAY PIONEER OF BIOTECHNOLOGY INDUSTRY ”.
The main function of J-BioTech is to encourage the economical and social development in bitechnology and biodiversity field. Besides that, JBioTech also play roles in conducting the trading and industrial activities in agriculture, health, research and training as well as collaborating with agencies at all levels, including public, private, or individual and foreign investors. At the same time, J-BioTech also responsible to give support in establishment of companies that interested in biotechnology and biodiversity activities by giving advice, consultation and aid in organizing related activities.
To realize and objectify the mission, J-Biotech has establish the development network structure that called as J-Bionexus. It comprises of tourism sector development, education, training, human resource development, bioindustry, biotechnology entrepreneur, bio-incubator and bio-tourism.
The establishment of J-Biotech aims to operate the objectives, missions and strategies that related to biotechnology activities in Johor based on State Biotechnology Policy. Overall, it is established to realize the government plan to actualize Malaysi as centre of world excellence in biotechnology by 2020.

Rompin National Park consist of 49 000 hectares of land located at the northern east of Johor, which bordered with State of Pahang. The area of Rompin National Park covered three flatland district that is Mersing, Segamat and Rompin. Rompin National Park that located on 70 kilometres from Mersing is the oldest tropical rainforest that possess unique features and attraction. It has been attraction to tourist since 19th centuries.
This reserved forest is a habitat for eight species of endemic flora that exclusive in this region only in this world. Besides that, this forest also occupies by eight new species, 81 species of ferns, 71 species of palm tree, 68 Oorchid species, and 108 species of medicine. Moreover, Rompin National Park also inhabit by 65 species of mammals includes tiger and bear, 12 sumateran rhinoceros, 100 elephants, 25 frog species, 48 fish species, 195 bird species, 11 snake species and 279 species of butterfly.
Besides that, Rompin National Park also equipped with Visitor Complex that comprised of centre of gallery information, library, cafeteria, and souvenir shop. Nearby the Visitor Complex, there are abundant of medicine plant, arbonetum, orchid, ginger, palm tree and lake decorated with ixora and lantanas flower with millions colourful butterflies.
To produce the book based on herbal research, the data collection activities are conducted in several location in Rompin National Park and one of them is Ethnibotani park where several species of herbal plant are planted here. The sampling location including National Environment Research Centre, which is the best place for natural research as well as scientist and researcher centre.
Beside being home to rare species of flora and fauna, Rompin National park also occupies by aboriginals that posses various skills and experties in make use of herbal plant as source of food and traditional medicine practise and believing. The most interesting about them is, since they closely attached to natural world, they tend to implicitly understand the modern concept such as ecosystem and biosphere that lately being take over by sustainable and conservation expertise.
Based on the awareness related to conservation of valuable flora and fauna, all party need to appreciate the priceless natural resource to ensure the sustainability of those endangered species for universal interest.

Johor Biodiversity Database (JBioDi) is a system that record the data related to plant species around Johor region and also encouraging civillian to share the data and be the data provider to this database.
This database was developed by wildlife officers (Perhilitan), museum, botanical park, private and public institution researchers and also personal party.
